Nation’s third-largest roofing company expands operations to support increased demand
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (March 13, 2012) – Baker Roofing Company, a full service building envelope contractor, announced today that it has opened an office in the Greater Asheville, N.C. area to better serve customers and meet growing client demand. This local presence will boost Baker’s logistical efficiency as well as allow it to be increasingly responsive to residential and commercial customers who are located in the region spanning from Hickory, N.C. to Knoxville, Tenn. Baker Roofing Company is strategically located in numerous markets across the Southeast.
The Asheville office will operate under the direction of Brent Lanning, an Asheville native with more than 25 years of experience in the construction and roofing industry. As Vice President and General Manager of the Asheville location, Lanning will be responsible for overseeing the office’s daily management, sales activities and operations.
“We have a growing number of customers in the western part of the state and our increased presence in Asheville will ensure that we provide these valued clients with the highest level of service in a timely manner,” said Lanning. “We are committed to carrying on Baker’s longstanding tradition of meeting our customers’ needs and delivering quality service 24/7, and we look forward to becoming even more involved in the community.”
The Asheville office will be backed by the full support of the Baker network, and will therefore offer a comprehensive staff of service crews to provide expertise in each of the company’s four divisions: roofing, renewable energy, restoration and residential. Baker Roofing Company has been involved in a number of Asheville projects over the years, the most noteworthy of which include the Grove Park Inn and the Inn at Biltmore Estates.
“The results speak for themselves. Grove Park Inn’s iconic red clay tile roof is a signature of the resort, and thanks to Baker Roofing, it will remain so for generations to come.”
“The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa is pleased to welcome Baker Roofing to Asheville as it opens a new office in the area. GPI has had an excellent relationship with Baker for several years now, most notably through the restoration work they did on our historic main inn roof,” said Jeff Bridgman, development analyst with The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. “The results speak for themselves. Grove Park Inn’s iconic red clay tile roof is a signature of the resort, and thanks to Baker Roofing, it will remain so for generations to come.”
Baker Roofing Company’s work on The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa lasted 18 months and was completed in October of 2010. The project involved the location and installation of the red clay tile that would match the aesthetic the inn’s roof has maintained since 1912. Baker Roofing and the engineering/architectural firm Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc. put in over 55,000 man hours as they teamed up with a project management group from the Grove Park Inn to make the project a very successful one. All renovations were completed while the inn remained open so as to avoid any disruption to the inn’s business operations.
